Stadthuys

Stadthuys, the salmon colour building of Dutch architecture is believed to be the oldest Dutch building in the East (circa 1641 and 1660). Situated in the Dutch Square, the Stadthuys was built in 1650 with unique Dutch mansonry and architectural skills. It used to be the official residence of the Dutch Governor.

Today, it is the Historical and Ethnography Museum, which has many traditional bridal costumes and relics on display. Within the squre near to the Stadthuys, there are the Queen Victoria's fountain buint in 1901 and the Melaka Clock Tower built in 1886.
