Sarawak Museum

The Sarawak Museum was built in 1981. It has European architecture of imposing edifice in Queen Anne style (Victorian period). The original 1891 building was designed in the style of a Normandy town-house. It is renowned to be having the single most comprehensive collection of Borneon artefacts to be found anywhere.

Dewan Tun Abdul Razak is another gallery of Sarawak Museum just across the road. Used to be a Legislative Assembly Hall from the year 1973 to the year 1975, it was converted into museum exhibition gallery in 1982. The new wing has a reconstruction of life in the prehistoric Niah Caves.
